As the rule of paint work reads: the quality of the processed base significantly affects the final result of the paint work. And this is not a myth, but reality. In this article, we consider all the options for painting and condition of the surface of the ceiling. For painting we will use Tikkuril’s paint.
If the ceiling is painted, and you wanted to refresh it with a new layer of paint, then it has a flat surface, clean, without dirty spots. Then you can safely apply the paint directly to the surface of the ceiling.
If the ceiling is new, without preliminary preparation, then it is necessary to apply a primer on it, which corresponds to the ceiling material (use the primer on drywall or concrete). The primer will give the ceiling of the strength and provide good adhesion of the paint with the surface.
If the ceiling is painted with glossy paint, then it is necessary to wash it with warm water and detergent. To give the surface good adhesion to paint, it must be treated with sandpaper No. 80. After the procedure done, the ceiling must be cleaned of dust with a damp cloth. After drying the surface, proceed to paint work.
If the surface of the ceiling is dusty, then it must be previously cleaned from dust with a damp rag. Wait for the surface to dry and start painting.
If the ceiling has an untidy look: fat and dirty spots, then clean, where it is possible, dirt. Then 24 hours before the main paint work, you must paint dirty spots with a painted roller. After the complete drying of these problem areas, start the main paintwork.
If the ceiling has an exfoliated surface, then it must be redeemed with sandpaper until the abandonment is completely removed. The next stage is the removal of dust from the ceiling with a wet rag. After which putty is applied to get rid of microcracks and irregularities in the ceiling. After this procedure, a primer is applied, which will make it possible to paint firmly on the ceiling.
If the ceiling has cracks less than 0.2 mm, then you can paint directly on the surface without preliminary preparation. If the cracks are more than 0.2 mm, then you will have to open them and apply 2 layers of putty, after gluing the painting net. Then polish and clean these places from dust. If necessary, you can apply another layer of putty or primer. After the surface is dried, it is necessary to sanded with finish sandpaper and remove the dust. Now you can start painting work.
What can you need in painting work: sponge, brush, protective film, rubber mittens, masking tape, ladder or forest, round roller, flat brush (leikika), tray for paint with a mesh, respirator. From materials: paint, paint for tinting, primer, putty, self -adhesive painting mesh.
