As a rule, the service life of stretch ceilings from PVC is not limited to the warranty period of manufacturers (up to 12 years), since these products are able to last much longer, without losing their original appearance. However, in order for stretch ceilings to really last for the longest possible time, it is necessary to correctly take care of them, following certain recommendations.
First of all, cleaning the surface of the stretch ceiling from polyvinyl chloride film should be carried out using soft flannel fabric, slightly moistening it in ordinary water or a washing tool. In this case, the water temperature should not be too hot – no more than +40 degrees.
In addition, it is impossible to clean the PVC film using cleaning products that contain abrasive substances, as they can seriously damage the film, leaving scratches on it.
It is necessary to clean the canvas very carefully, towards the seams, if the design is a suture. After cleaning, it should be thoroughly removed from the surface with the remaining detergent and wipe the canvas with a dry flannel fabric. For more thorough surface cleaning, special polishes can be used.
If we are talking about glossy stretch ceilings, it is recommended to clean them through alcohol -containing cleaning agents that avoid the appearance of divorces.
Remember that the stretch fabric is quite durable, but the use of sharp or piercing objects is not allowed, so the contacts of the canvas with acute accessories should be avoided – this can lead to deformation of the material and its irretrievable damage. If, nevertheless, a puncture and cut are formed, you should immediately seal it with tape and call specialists who can eliminate damage, and the complete replacement of the stretch ceiling will not be needed.
It must be remembered that any mechanical damage to the stretch ceiling is not included in the warranty service, so you need to handle the product as carefully as possible.
And in the case when the overhaul of the premises is carried out, but the replacement of the stretch ceiling is not required, you can temporarily dismantle it or cover it with a protective net, which is also carried out by experts.
Observing all of the above recommendations, you can significantly extend the life of the stretch ceiling.
