Light wooden floors visually differ depending on the type of wood. The key to the choice of a compatible wall color is to determine whether your floor is a warm light floor or a cold bright floor. Warm floors most often have yellowish, orange or red tint. Cold floors have a gray or dark gray tint.
Pure white walls are combined with all types of floors from light wood, but the view of the room will vary depending on the room and lighting. In this case, the modern interior will most often turn out. But most white colors are actually not purely white. Additional pigments are added to white and it becomes either warm white or cold white. Accordingly, combine the cold white color of the walls with a cold floor, and with a warm floor – a warm white color of the walls. Do not combine cold shades of white paint with warm light floors – you get a dull room, which in addition to everything will seem dirty. If you cannot understand what type of white paint is in front of you, take a simple white sheet of paper and put it next to the paint samples.
Many confuse neutral shades with warm or cold white colors, but these are different things. When it comes to neutral colors, they usually imply a line of flowers from beige to black-brown. Brown and gray colors are combined with warm and cold light floors, depending on the pigments. If you want the walls of neutral colors slightly dark or medium dark, then combine paint pigments with floor pigments. The color of the wall should be at least two shades lighter or two shades darker than the color of the floor. Please note that lighting will affect how neutral colors in the room look.
Warm colors are combined with a warm floor. These are yellow, orange, red. Although the true green color is a cool color, it can be used if shades of yellow are added to it.
There are some combinations when cold floors are combined with warm walls, for example, gray deciduous rocks with a bright pumpkin color. But in general, cold light floors are combined with a cold palette of finishing materials for the wall.
