Carpet is quite soft and pleasant for the legs, which is often used in houses, especially in those where children live. But the carpet can deteriorate or lose its former appearance over time. Despite the relatively low prices for cleaning carpets, many homeowners launch their carpet coatings to such a level that the spots are no longer possible to get cheaply. But what to do in this case?
1. Remove the carpet.
If you can afford to remove the carpet and replace it with something else (for example, a new carpet or parquet), then this is your main solution. Now many lovers of soft surfaces are laid down wooden floors, and then lay large carpets on top. This option is often better and easier to care.
If you change the carpet to the new carpet, then consider the option with replacing with carpet tiles, instead of rolled carpet. In this case, with the following damage to the carpet, you can change only 1-2 tiles, and not the entire carpet.
2. Cover the carpet.
You can decorate the spot by installing a piece of furniture or accessory over it. This is the fastest and simple way to hide the old carpet. Holes on carpet, spots and scuffs – all this can be covered with something. But do not hide what behaves quite strange, for example, growing splash of mold.
If the carpet is driven in the very center of the room, you can reorganize the space so that furniture stands in the center. Holes next to the bed can be covered with cabbages, chests or baskets.
3. Do not let the carpet dominate.
If you have an old carpet, but you want to distract attention from it, switch it to the walls. Place the paintings or install some attractive decor. This advice applies not only to aged carpets, but also to carpets that look poor enough. If your carpet seems cheap, switch attention to the walls from it.
4. You can try to repaint or whiten the carpet.
Believe it or not, you can whiten or paint the carpet. Synthetic or natural carpets can be treated with a large amount of acrylic paint for fabric or glossy latex paint. Some skillful homeowners even manage to create new patterns on carpet with the help of ordinary tape when painting.
