Decorating the external facade and interior decoration of buildings with gypsum stucco molding has been used in architecture since ancient times. In particular in Russia, this technique has been used for more than three hundred years, since the founding of St. Petersburg, many structures of that time are decorated with elements from gypsum. It is not accepted to decorate with stucco molding at present, in modern interiors you will practically not meet it, but in vain. For example, cornice from stucco gypsum can disguise the joints of wall and ceiling coatings, and the ornament on the ceiling under the chandelier will visually make the room above. In addition, gypsum stucco molding is very beautiful. It may seem that it will not be very easy to apply in your housing to such a technique, but this is not so, the main thing is to have the necessary tools and materials at hand.
All gypsum stucco molding, designed for placement on the ceiling or walls of the room, is made in forms of silicone.
When filling, the matrix itself is placed in a gypsum box so that its deformation does not occur. To prepare gypsum stucco molding, it is necessary to pour water into the shape, and then it is poured into the container where the solution will be mixed, this procedure is necessary so that you can calculate how many solution is necessary for the manufacture of one copy. Then gypsum is added to the container with the liquid, and the resulting mixture is left for 10 minutes., Then he repeatedly knew and immediately after that is poured into the matrix, but not to the very top. Then the mixture with the hands is evenly distributed in shape. It is also necessary to drive out air from the solution, for this, the edges of the form are slightly lifted and lowered sharply, alternately on each side.
After that, the gypsum product needs to be reinforced, for which you will need hemp fiber, pacli for plumbing needs, aluminum or copper wire. The reinforcement is placed on the surface of a flooded solution and equalized using a spatula. Then the rest of the solution is poured, which is mixed before that. The surface of the reverse side of the product is also smoothed with a spatula, it should be somewhat wider than the shape itself.
When gypsum after some time begins to harden, and you will see this with a naked look – the mirror surface of the gypsum solution will become dull, you will have to work with a spatula again. Then the cuts are made on the product so that the solution becomes more homogeneous and grabs well.
In order to pull out the finished gypsum product from the mold, it is turned upside down with the box, remove the box, and slowly, starting from the center, remove the product from the matrix. Since gypsum is not completely dry, it is laid horizontally on an absolutely smooth surface in a room where there is no increased humidity, otherwise it can “story”.
The stucco molding from 3 to 5 days completely freezes, depending on its size and humidity in the room. In the event that you did not have time to place the prepared solution in the mold before it began to harden, it is better to get rid of such a product, since most likely gypsum will not be hard enough, and will also break and crumble.
