Self -House: Environmentally friendly, inexpensive, fun.

Among people who choose life in a private house, the percentage of those who want to live in not just an environmentally friendly structure, but in a house erected according to historical technologies, a method used in the selected area, is increasingly growing.

It is obvious that some of these methods are either labor -intensive to perform or are little suitable for housing. So, hardly anyone will seriously decide to drown “in black” or organize an earthen floor for themselves. On the other hand, other technologies do not become obsolete, just as the materials and our needs in clean air, good heat – and sound insulation, etc. do not become obsolete.

So, if you want to abandon concrete blocks, if you are not loved the double-glazed window, if fuss with clay is more pleasant to you than turning and milling work, then the exit for you is Saman. Samanna House is one of such non -obsolete technologies. The term itself came from Turkic, where he meant straw. Today, Saman is also called houses made of clay bricks (rolled up in the form and dried in the sun) and that in the old years in Ukraine it was called “Mazanka” or “Stolbian”.

The house made of Samannaya brick practically does not need wooden structures, is being built over the summer and if the clay and sand are sideways under the side. You can do it with the whole family and the process gives a lot of pleasure.

From 25-ka or 30s, a box without a bottom is chopped. The size depends on the required form of the adult. In the middle lane, this form varies from 30?14?10 cm to 40?19?13 cm. It is better to start brick manufacturing work in spring or early summer, so that by August the brick dried exclusively in the sun is ready. In a form sprinkled with meakina, in manual (using manual tamping) they have a lump of clay (before the clay was thrown into the box, so that it itself is literally embroidered into it, now there are almost no similar craftsmen). Excess is removed. Light rain on a flat platform, the future self -sulfur brick can withstand, in the case of the storm form with clay is removed under the canopy. Then, the finished brick withstands being in the water for up to 2 days, but for now it will need to be saved. And hold in the form of a few days. The second stage of drying – on the rib – takes another goth 5 to 7 days, depending on the weather. Then they give the brick to hard, while the next. Completely dried brick is able to withstand the fall from a height of up to 2 meters, and to change its shape sometimes has to resort to such modern technologies as hydroamber hassle.

Another technology for manufacturing Saman is even easier, but the presence of pillars, crossbars and reeds requires. The pillars burst into the ground (or are placed in the foundation), horizontal crossbars are stuffed on both sides and the formed cells are clogged with straw, and with clay coating is coated on top. The only problem of such a house is the need to know the passage of the pillars-both when installing the roof, which is not difficult and, if necessary, to score something, hang or attach to the wall already during a life in this house.

The most expensive stage in the Saman construction is plaster – external and internal. However, if Saman is not chosen for considerations of savings, then the finish can be performed by more expensive materials – from metal to ultramodern siding. The combination of adults with a natural stone, with facing brick, with wooden decor elements (for example, wooden porch or terrace) looks good. Saman and porcelain tiles are well combined, which can be paved with space in front of the house (cutting porcelain tile and its laying are available for an ordinary “home builder”, if there is the required tool).

In this house, heat in winter and cool in summer is always easily breathed, and in the sense of environmental friendliness, it exceeds most other well -known methods for the construction of low -rise housing.
