What is NCAS: Commission members, duties and functions

NCAS is listed under the Nevada Department of Business. All activities of the organization are supervised by the state.

Each commissioner is appointed by the governor for a three-year term. The governor also selects one of the five commissioners to serve as chairman. The current chairman is Anthony Marnell III, and the commissioners (in order of appointment) are Stacy Alonso, Sandra Douglas Morgan, Christopher Ault, and Dr. Robert McBeath.

NSAC Duties

Main functions:

1. Licensing of fighters and coaches.
2. Maintaining financial control (taxes, fees).
3. Issuing permits for competitions.

Also, the athletic commission is responsible for resolving disputes and nuances between participants in an event and their managers. It sets rules that must be followed, otherwise the matter can lead to a severe reprimand or disqualification.
