Among the historical landmarks of Nevada, it is worth highlighting the government buildings of the state capital (a wonderful example of the neo-Renaissance style Nevada State Capitol Building and the building in the classical revival style Governor’s Mansion).
In Carson City, the Nevada State Museum is also interesting, where you can learn more about the formation of the region. You can get acquainted with the railroad industry at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. The city of Fallon, on the territory of which the archaeological park Grimes Point is located, is also interesting for travelers. Here is the military base Naval Air Station Fallon, a visit to which is a dream for everyone interested in aviation.
Virginia City is known for its historical Comstock Lode Park, where the “silver rush” began. Today, you can see many buildings here that preserve the memory of the past, of which the Mackay Mansion building is the best preserved. By the way, it was in this city that Samuel Clemens came up with his pseudonym, and now the whole world knows him as Mark Twain. Another interesting place in Virginia City is the church St. Mary in the Mountains Catholic Church. In Las Vegas, you can find the historic park Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort, where the history of the city began. The oldest settlement in the Las Vegas Strip is considered to be the church Little Church of the West, built in 1942. But it is also interesting because it was here that the characters of Elvis Presley and Ann-Margaret got married in the movie Viva Las Vegas.
